Costa: I feel targeted in England

Diego Costa says he feels targeted in England and receives harsher punishments than other Premier League players.

The Chelsea striker scored a dramatic late winner as Antonio Conte s team defeated West Ham on Monday, but only after he had avoided a second yellow card for a foul on goalkeeper Adrian, having earlier been booked for dissent.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic said after the match that Costa would have seen red nine times out of 10 for the incident, but the Spain international feels the attention he gets is undeserved.

The 27-year-old told ESPN Brasil: I am aware of [the new dissent law] now. The second time I went to talk to him, he showed me [the yellow card]. I even found it a bit weird, but then I understood. I went to apologise at half-time and that s i…

Stam´s Reading sign Manchester United youngster Blackett

Reading have signed defender Tyler Blackett from Manchester United on a three-year deal.

Blackett was handed a surprise debut in Louis van Gaal s first Premier League game in charge of United in August 2014, a 2-1 home defeat to Swansea City, and went on to make 12 first-team appearances that season.

The 22-year-old spent last term on loan with Celtic, but only played eight times for the Scottish champions and, with a route into Jose Mourinho s first-team plans appearing unlikely, he will continue his career under former United fans favourite Jaap Stam in the Championship.

As we know, Tyler is a talented defender who has played for United’s first team, said Reading boss Stam.

We d like to wish all the best to Tyler Blackett, who has joined Reading on a…

Wilfred Ndidi gave the Foxes a dream start with a fantastic goal from range in just the sixth minute of the game. The Blues thought they had received a penalty just before half-time for a Jonny Evans trip on Christian Pulisic but VAR chalked that off. The Foxes then compounded that misery with Maddison doubling the hosts advantage.

Here are five things we learned from the King Power Stadium:

Magical Maddison

Maddison is really in a sparkling vein of form for Leicester City at the current time. In his last eight Premier League games, the English midfielder has scored five and provided a further two.

Greece looks to rediscover 2004 magic touch

Five years and four months after their surprise Euro 2004 crowning, Greece are still searching for that magic touch which will lead them back to glory days.

A disastrous showing in the 2005 Confederation Cup, failure to qualify for the 2006 World Cup, a disappointing performance in Euro 2008 and failure to qualify outright in what was termed an easy group for the 2010 World Cup are all the team has to show in their post-Euro 2004 history.

But 71-year-old German coach Otto Rehhagel, the mastermind behind the Euro 2004 triumph, and a handful of players left over from that team have a chance to bring back lost respect if they get by Ukraine in the play-offs.

If they accomplish that, it will only be the second time that Greece has made it to the World Cup having don…
