Di Vaio to depart Bologna

Marco Di Vaio has announced that he will leave Bologna at the end of the season amid links the forward is to join MLS side Montreal Impact.

The 35-year-old forward has achieved legendary status at the Dall Ara on account of his fantastic goalscoring exploits since arriving from Genoa in 2008, as well as his impressive commitment to the cause during the club s recent financial troubles.

However, Di Vaio who has netted 65 Serie A goals for the club during his four-year stint said he knew it was time to move on.

The next two games will be my last in a Bologna jersey, the striker told TMW Magazine.

I do not want to feel like a burden on the club or the fans.

I have spent four years in this beautiful city, with this team, but I received an interesting proposal from Montreal Impact.
